Spent up and had a great time now back in wet and windy Whitworth

Yeah, there were 4 of us touring round the island on classic brit bikes for the week, not many miles but very relaxing,I think we visited virtually everywhere.

Badged up my new M40 tunic and reinforced all the button stitching.

I also cleared out the downstairs cupboard to make room for uniforms.

Cheers

That was what I thought too until I looked at what non-military clothes I had in there. Having cleared out my nostalgia ex-punk stuff (carefully bagged up and put in the loft) and some superfluous work clothes, I now have room to put in both my new greatcoat and my duffel coat without my half of the hanging rail being so chock full I can't get anything else onto it.

Very satisfying indeed.

Cheers
Martin

Today I...

Did some sightseeing in Berlin. Not a lot of WW2 stuff apart from a preserved section of Wall near the old Government district that has a pictoral history of the rise and fall of the Nazi party. Very detailed and informative. All the surviving prewar public buildings and monuments have had the pockmarks of battle artfully polyfilla'd in though :giggle:

In 1975 the view from my hotel building would have been the death strip at Potsdamer Platz

the ruin on the right is the once very posh Haus Vaterland restaurant

I spent a happy Sunday morning rubbing wet, gritty earth all over my Stahlhelm and gas mask cannister.

The fun never stops.

Cheers
